It’s a proper photography studio.
The difference? You’re in control of the camera. It’s what sets a self portrait studio apart from a normal photoshoot.
No photographer or on lookers watching you pose. No one telling you where to put your hands. No chit chat whilst you’re trying to look natural.
Just you, the camera, the lighting, your music and a room to experiment in. Take a photograph. Look at it. Change your pose, grab a prop. Try something completely different.

Backdrops, props and styling
PICK YOUR LOOK
You’ll have 4 backdrops available during your session – you can choose your combination from the backdrop library beforehand.
Go bold with colour. Keep it clean with a neutral. Change your outfit and create a completely different look.
There are also props and styling pieces in the studio to play with.
Ideas and tips
BEFORE YOU ARRIVE
You’ll be sent a short posing video before your session, packed with ideas for movement, poses and ways to use the space.
So you won’t arrive and think… “Right… what am I actually supposed to do?”
You’ll already have a few ideas to try. After that, it’s completely up to you.

I’ll get everything set up, show you how it works and then get out of your way. You shoot. You choose. You decide.
01 – ARRIVE
Come in, get changed and choose your backdrop. I’ll show you exactly how the camera, lighting and controls work.
02 – TAKE CONTROL
The camera is already set up and ready to go. Use the trigger to fire the shutter. You’ll get a countdown before each photograph.
3… 2… 1… Snap!
03 – PLAY
Change your pose. Change your outfit. Grab a prop. Move. Try something fun. Take another.
There’s no photographer telling you what to do and no pressure to get it right first time. No awkward camera-shy thoughts.
04 – CHOOSE FAVES
After your session, and within 48 hours, you’ll receive your gallery of images. 10 professionally edited images are included in your session.
And if you love more than 10 – which you might – you can upgrade your gallery afterwards.

Do I need to know anything about photography?
No. I’ll set up the camera and lighting for you. The controller makes taking the photographs simple.
Is there a photographer in the room?
No. I’ll get you set up, make sure you’re happy with everything and then leave you to it.
Is this the same as the self portrait studios in London?
Yes, same idea, a private studio where you’re in full control of the camera. The difference is you don’t need to travel into London, and sessions run in a private house studio just outside Guildford rather than a busy city centre space.
What camera will I get to use?
A professional Sony A7R V with professional continuous lighting. So although you’re taking the photographs yourself, you’re getting the quality of a proper studio setup.
What if I don't know how to pose?
You’ll receive a posing video before your session with ideas and inspiration. You’ll also have the freedom to experiment without anyone watching. There is a mirror so you can check in on every pose. And remember – you can always take another photograph.
How many backdrops can I use?
There are 8 backdrops in total – four colour pops and four neutrals.
There are four slots on the backdrop system, so four backdrops will be available during your session.
You’ll be able to choose your combination from the backdrop library beforehand.
Can I change outfits?
Yes. Your 60-minute session includes getting changed, as well as setting up and packing away, so we’d recommend planning at least two outfits.
How many images are included?
Your session includes 10 professionally edited images.
You can take as many photographs as you like during your session. Once you’ve seen your gallery, you’ll have the option to upgrade if you want more.
Can I get more than 10 images?
Absolutely. You don’t need to decide before your session. Once you’ve seen your gallery, you can choose to upgrade:
10 images – included
20 images – upgrade £75
40 images – upgrade £100
All your favourites – upgrade £125
So you can book for £95, see what you’ve created and then decide whether you want more.
Are the photographs edited?
Yes. Every photograph you receive is professionally edited in my style. You won’t receive a folder full of unedited camera files.
Can I bring my own props?
Absolutely. There are props and styling pieces in the studio, but you’re welcome to bring something personal if there’s something specific you’d like to include.
Can I use the session for my business?
Definitely. It’s ideal for creating portraits, social media images, content ideas, website photographs and more creative images for your brand.
Can I bring someone with me?
Yes – up to two people can fit in the studio.
Is nudity allowed?
No. The studio is strictly non-nude.
All photographs taken during your session must be suitable for a professional studio environment. This includes no topless, nude or sexually explicit photography.
